DANZIG - Halloween '97
Hope you creeps had a good time on Halloween. The Danzig show fuckin rocked!
I was waiting for friends outside the The Whiskey so I missed the opening
bands. We thought Danzig was gonna go on at 11:00 so we finally got inside.
The place was packed with people. I saw Joey Castillo coming in. I asked who the
new members of DANZIG are. I found out the new bass player is Rob Nicholson and
the new guitar player is Dave Cushner. At about 11:30 people started chanting,
"Danzig, Danzig." Finally at about midnight the lights go out and "Overture
Of The Rebel Angels" begins. The only things you could see on stage were the
Halloween Jack O' Lanters. Then Danzig comes on stage and opens the festivities
with "Long Way Back From Hell." Glenn came out in his classic black attire. He was
wearing a black sleeveless mesh shirt. And the new bass player Rob came out
with a long black devilock. After the first song they went right into "7th House."
The people went nuts. Bodies flying around everywhere. The new band sounds
great! The are Heavy and Loud. They played a good selection from all of the
DANZIG records. Here are songs. They are not in order but this is what they played:
Long Way Back From Hell
7th House
Deep
Her Black Wings
Snakes Of Christ
Dirty Black Summer
It's Coming Down
Can't Speak
Bringer Of Death
Twist Of Cain
Death Comes Ripping
Sacrifice
Halloween II
It was cool to hear "Death Comes Ripping." Glenn's new band plays it fuckin
great. The final song of the evening was "Halloween II." Everyone at the show
was singing along to this ghoulish tune. It was truely incredible. Good to see
all you fiends there: Nathan, Gaston, Lazie, Tramp, Mike "Sully", Mike from 805 area
code (never saw you but I know you where there), Tabia, Clint, and of course
the Goth Girls from Verotik.
