Glen E. Friedman is known as one of the most important photographers of his generation for several reasons, not least of which, of interest to this site, is his incredible documentation of the punk scene from the late 70's onward. He shot the Misfits on some of their first California tours after being convinced by his friend and often subject, Black Flag's Henry Rollins, what a great band they were. Over the years Glen E. Friedman and Glenn Danzig had opportunities to work together often, in fact due to the friendship they developed in the "punk years" it was Friedman who introduced Danzig to Rick Rubin, which eventually led to that incredible artistic partnership.
Hence the photographic evidence of Rollins singing along with the Misfits at the first show G.E.F. shot of them, as well as being the first photographer to shoot a session for the newly formed DANZIG as a personal request of Rick Rubin for the 'new' Def American label, (these shots were never until now released to the public other than one small image in Friedman's book FUCK YOU TOO).
In 2005 Friedman was convinced to go into his Danzig archive by the 7thHouse since we became serious collectors of his work, and in turn Friedman has expressed enthusiasm to share some of the never before seen work for the 1st time to the true fans, enjoy ghouls!
